Selling Shiny Pokémon

A shiny Drifloon floating in the air.

As you already know, you’ll need to sell Pokémon to earn money. But what happens if you sell a shiny one?

That’s a question I asked myself as well. Since shiny Pokémon are particularly rare, encountering one is usually a special moment in any game… Unless it’s a Caterpie. Or a Swalot. When was the last time you even heard the name “Swalot” ?

Maybe I’m being a bit too harsh on you, Swalot.

Instead of letting these unwanted Pokémon rot in your PC, you’ll be able to sell shiny ones for five times their usual price.

Someone once pointed out to me that selling a shiny Caterpie wouldn’t bring in a huge amont of money anyway, to which I replied that if you’re finding a shiny Caterpie, you’re probably still early in the game, so multiplying its value by 5 can actually make a difference. And hey, you can always evolve it to increase its price!
