The number of Badges affects your encounters
Since the planet you’ll be sent to is randomly selected, encounters must adapt to your progression. This helps prevent your new captures from falling too far behind in levels.
For example, if you land on 11-PX9E with 0 badge, you’ll see few (if any) evolved Pokémon. On the other hand, with a few badges under your belt, expect to encounter a Rimbombee rather than just a Cutiefly!
Delving deeper for better rewards
Your step limit introduces a strategic dilemma: will you take the risk of venturing deep into a planet in hopes of finding stronger Pokémon? Or will you conserve your steps to maximize encounters near the landing zone?
